NEW MG TF.. Let your Journey Start with us.....

Today, 3rd July 2007, NAC MG (UK) is pleased to announce the appointment of Luffield Cars to the newly established MG franchise retailer network.

Luffield Cars based in Belton Road, Loughborough, will have a dedicated showroom offering the new MG TF 2-seater sportscar at their current premises.

The site in Leicestershire offers customers an allocated service centre, catering for all sales, service, parts and warranty work for the MG brand and existing MG Rover customers.

David Wood, Managing Director of Luffield Cars, which was previously a recognised MG X-Power specialist and still a popular MG service centre in the UK comments: “We feel very privileged to have been chosen as one of the founding retailers of the new MG franchise network. We are fully committed towards the development of the business and we consider the future of MG cars to be extremely exciting. We look forward to continuing to provide customers with the highest quality service, products and after-care.”

Stephen Cox, Sales and Franchising Manager for NAC MG (UK) said: We very much welcome Luffield Cars as MG representatives in Leicestershire. This is an important territory for us, and we are sure that they will provide customers with a first class service."

MG Heritage
It was back in 1924, over three-quarters of a century ago, that Cecil Kimber, general manager of Morris Garages first started to produce rather special sports cars. One of his staff designed a badge for it, an octagon containing the 'M' and 'G' initials. A legend was born. But MG came to stand for much more than its humble roots: the cars quickly established an amazing reputation for high performance with sure-footed handling - as the advertising slogan said, 'Safety Fast' - at a fraction of the price of more exotic sports cars.

The two magic letters have adorned some of the most popular sports cars of all time. Todays MG's boast all the pedigree, verve and outstanding value that have forged the marque's reputation.

MG TF
In 1995, sports car enthusiasts around the world were delighted by the launch of the MGF. This marked the return of the MG marque to volume-produced open sports cars for the first time since 1980. It soon firmly established itself as the top selling sports car in the UK, and began to sell strongly in export markets including Europe, Japan and Australia.

Little production car development was sanctioned in the BMW-era, apart from of the introduction of the Stepspeed (CVT / Six-speed) derivative in 1999, as part of the 2000MY update. However, when MG Rover Group gained its independence in 2000, the pent-up enthusiasm of MG engineers could at last be directed into a high-intensity programme for a new-generation MGF.

The first inkling of the new direction came with the exclusive MGF Trophy 160 SE model, announced in January 2001. This drew from racetrack experience (MGF Trophy and MGF Cup championships) and represented the ultimate high performance evolution of the existing chassis and body. However the designers and engineers were now thinking well beyond this, with ideas for significant advances in chassis, body structure, aerodynamics, powertrain and style.

The launch of the MG TF, nearly six months earlier than anticipated, once again demonstrates MG Rover Group’s ability to deliver outstanding products within industry-leading time scales and with an ethos to be ‘lean, mean and efficient’ with a ‘will to do’ central to everyone’s thinking.

The TF retains the ‘real world’ affordability and practicality.

MG ZR

The exterior style changes to the new MG ZR include a new front bumper design, a deeper integral SV look front grille and a tough clear lens protecting twin halogen headlamps in a black surround, that combine to give the ZR a fresh and sports focused, modern appearance.

At the rear, the treatment is just as effective, with a new, more angular rear bumper, housing the re-positioned number plate and a clean-panel rear tailgate, with centrally mounted MG brand and ZR model identity badging.  This gives a more defined rear appearance, with its standard-fit spoiler for a refreshed design style.  Other exterior changes include the tailgate lift handle now incorporated into the rear wiper assembly design and body coloured side rubbing strips with ZR model identity badging.  A blacked out lower feature and stainless steel exhaust heat shield creates an authentic effect, with 160 models also featuring rear bumper extensions on the corners by the rear wheel arch.

Inside, the high quality and stylish cabin features a new fascia design, centre console, soft touch switchgear and an array of technology features.  The new fascia houses four circular styled air vents that give definition and feature to the centre and ends of the fascia, each with a satin chrome finish.  .

MG ZS
The new MG ZS has a striking exterior treatment, combining a sculpted new front bumper, front grille and twin lens headlamps to generate a greater on-road presence, with a more modern style. The front bumper includes an integrated lip spoiler, which substantially improves the stance and aero performance of this sports saloon.

At the rear, the ZS has a new appearance, with a new, more angular rear bumper and rear boot / tailgate treatment with a lower re-positioned number plate position. This lowers the eye-line to give the car a more defined rear, whilst the addition of a rear lip spoiler (to all MG ZSs, both 5dr and 4dr body styles) helps to change the rear profile of the car considerably.

Another major exterior difference on the new MG ZS is the availability of an all new "body kit" treatment, standard on ZS 180 derivatives, and available as an option on the ZS range. This body kit includes front and rear wheelarch spats, front fender vents, and side sill finisher. The features have a major effect on the appearance of the car, giving it a much more muscular appearance and increase the differentiation of the ZS 180 vs the standard cars from the rest of the range, and take-up is expected to exceed demand from the current status.

New 17" 11-spoke alloy wheels are specified on the new ZS 180, and because they have a larger 7.5J rating, effectively improving steering response, they further enhance the already superb chassis handling characteristics. These will be standard on the ZS 180, and an option on the rest of the range when specified as a package with the optional body kit.

The incorporation of a new fascia design transforms the interior of latest MG ZS, and includes satin chrome circular vent treatments that add more definition and a more striking appearance. A new Technical Grey insert finisher completes the sporting character of the cabin.

MG ZT & MG ZT-T & ZT260
Heading up the new MG saloon range, the ZT models bring a new sporting aura to the upper-medium and compact executive car sectors. Five models lead the range - 160Ps 1.8-litre turbo, 160Ps 2.5-litre KV6, 190Ps 2.5-litre KV6, 180Ps Sports Auto and a 2.0-litre turbo diesel, all providing high levels of equipment. The ZT and ZT+ specification range between £18,970 and £22,695 OTR.

True to MGs sports pedigree, the MG ZT makes a strong visual impact with a purposeful stance and style. Aerodynamic features and various chassis dynamic elements have been developed to influence handling qualities to produce a real sports-driving characteristic.
